Baptism, along with Confirmation and first Eucharist, is one of the sacraments of initiation, by which members are incorporated into the mystical Body of Christ, the Church. It forms us into God's holy people and puts us in a constant and permanent relationship with Christ and His Church. In Baptism, Christians are born. It appears Tertullian identified Baptism as the point at which Christians are born. It is a movement into and through the Paschal Mystery. Baptism, by its nature is an action, not an end. It begins a process of constant conversion.
