We, the Roman Catholic Church of St. Pius X, are dedicated to continue the mission of Jesus Christ through the sacraments,

with the Eucharist as the source and summit of our faith, enriched by prayer, education, and service.

Caring Ministries

All Caring Ministries are corporal acts of mercy. Those wishing to be trained as a volunteer for any Caring Ministry may contact Deacon Rick Simon in the parish office at 733-0575.

Homebound and Nursing Home Visits

Visits are done to meet the challenge of our parish to outreach to members who are elderly, sick, dying, homebound and/or in nursing homes. Special training for this ministry is available on visiting, listening, and prayer skills and how to perform the Communion rite in a home setting. A Pastor or Deacon will go with a volunteer until they are comfortable to go on their own.

Hospital Visitors

St. Pius X has a hospital visitation ministry to St. Elizabeth’s and Appleton Medical Center hospitals Monday through Saturday. The time of day for visitation is flexible and depending on the volunteer’s schedule.

Communion Ministers to AMC Hospital

Volunteers are trained to bring the Holy Eucharist to Catholic patients in a hospital setting Monday through Friday. The time of day for administering the Eucharist to patients depends on the volunteer’s schedule. What a blessing and outreach to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Grief Care

After a funeral and loss of a loved one, family members who are in need of someone to listen, pray and help them process their loss may contact Deacon Rick Simon. Grief Care may be done with a phone call or a home visit, usually within the following month of the loss.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide lay organization of Christian men and women. The aim of the SVDP is to bring social justice and friendship of true charity to all those in need. SVDP subscribes to the Vincentian practice of giving without regard to creed, opinion, color, origin or caste. It respects the dignity of the poor -- in the poor seeing Christ. The SVDP Society helps parishioners and non-parishioners with emergency needs of clothing, food, rent, utilities, beds, etc. Volunteers staff each Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for walk-in clients that need help. To volunteer, please contact Deacon Rick Simon.

Parish Retreat

A seasonal or thematic opportunity for the entire parish, peoples of all ages, to grow and experience their Catholic Faith in a deeper level. This event could consist of a bus trip to Holy Hill or Chambers Island Retreat Center for a day of prayer and fellowship. It usually takes place in August. For more information contact the parish office.
