Dear St. Pius X Parish Family,

Greetings to all of you! I have now been here at St. Pius X parish for over two months and I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received here. Transitions are always difficult and I want to thank you, my new parish family, for making me feel welcome and for helping me to transition into parish life here at St. Pius. I have been very impressed by the deep faith of the people here. It is evident in the great Mass attendance both on weekends, and on weekdays, and in the number of people who seek forgiveness in the Sacrament of Penance. I truly look forward to my time with you here at St. Pius X.

Many of you have been asking me to give a little autobiography about myself, so here it is. I grew up in Okauchee, Wisconsin, a small unincorporated town in southwestern Wisconsin. Okauchee is just east of Oconomowoc, and about 33 miles east of downtown Milwaukee. I graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1994, and Silver Lake College in Manitowoc in 2000. After working as Director of Christian Formation and Youth Ministry at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, in the Madison Diocese, I decided to return to the Green Bay Diocese for seminary. I attended the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois, and I was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay in June of 2007. For the past two years, I served as Parochial Vicar of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, St. Jude Parish, St. Joseph Parish, and St. Patrick Parish, all on the northwest side of Green Bay.

I am the 10th of 12 children, (6 boys, and 6 girls), and I have 19 nieces and nephews. My youngest sister, Karen, is a postulant with the Dominican Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in Justice, Illinois. Please pray for her and all of the men and women discerning priesthood or religious life.

Many blessings to all of you, and may our time together be filled with many blessings.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Andrew Kysely
