Volunteer Opportunities

This is an excellent way for students to fulfill their Service Hours requirements.

• Picnic Set up and take down – People are needed to help us move equipment, put up tents, and assist ParishFest Committee Members in organizing their booths.  Some volunteers are needed throughout the weekend but most of the work happens on the Wednesday & Thursday evening before the event and Sunday afternoon.

 

• ParishFest Committee Chairperson(s) - An individual(s) is/are needed to assist in the organization of the ParishFest event. This requires coordinating meetings, communicating with committee members and working as a liaison between the committee and church. This position is currently open.

 

• Games – People are needed to help coordinate set- up and take down of the games area as well as people to run the game booths in shifts.

 

• Beer Tent – Individuals are needed to fulfill shifts for serving beer behind the bar during the event. Volunteers must be 21 years of age.

 

• Paddle Wheel – Adults are needed to assist in selling paddles for the paddle wheel game. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.

 

• Fish Boil – People are needed to prepare for and serve the fish boil dinner on Saturday night.

 

• Chicken Dinner – People are needed to prepare for and serve the Chicken Dinner on Sunday afternoon.

 

• Silent Auction - People are needed to help assemble auction baskets, supervise the auction area, and assist with checkout once the auction is over.

 

• Ticket Sales – People are needed to sell raffle and game tickets at the event.

 

• Food Stand – People are needed to assist in setting up the stand, preparing food, grilling food and serving customers.

 

• Refreshment Stand - People are needed to help sell candy, ice cream novelties, etc. during the event.

 

• Picnic Publicity – We need an individual to assist in promoting the picnic event.  This includes working with advertisers and sponsors, ordering and installing road signs and posters as well as other promotional opportunities.  People interesting in this area should contact the Committee Chairman.

 

• Fincance Comittee - Adults are needed to help set up cash boxes and count monies collected from the various booths throughout the event. People interested in this area, shoul contact the Finance Chairman.
