The St. Pius X Parish Resource Center contains Books, Videos, and DVD’s for all ages.
The Children’s book section has the Arch Bible Books, Bible Story Books, Books on Prayer, Sacraments, Values, Berenstein Bears and Sesame Street. Also books for Advent/Christmas Lent/Easter Halloween/Thanksgiving.
The Adult book section contains books on Scripture, Catechism, Sacraments, Prayer, Media, Self-help, Mary, Spiritual Books, and Parenting.
In the Video section you will find videos for the children. There are many song videos for young children, stories about the Saints and Bible Characters, Valentine Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, Lent, Easter. Videos on forgiveness, the virtues, faith, trust, love, acceptance of others, sharing etc. etc. We have many of the Veggie Tale videos also for the children.
The youth and adult videos are about the Bible, Moral Issues, Old Testament, New Testament, Parenting, Love/Sexuality, Christmas, Lent/Easter, Faith/Discipleship, Sacraments, and Spirituality.
Parish Resource Center Hours
We would like to have the Parish Resource center open ½ hour before and after 4:00 p.m. Saturday Mass, and the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday Masses. It is also open from 8:30 a.m. -4:00 p.m. during the week.
The Resource Center is set up so one is able to help oneself. The books are labeled according to categories: prayer, scripture, saints, spiritual books, parenting books etc. All one needs to do is locate the book or video one wishes, fill out the library card found in the pocket of the book or video and place the card on the box on the Resource Center counter.
Books and videos may be checked out from 2 – 4 weeks at a time.
Parish Resource Center Volunteers
It would be nice to have volunteers in the Parish Resource Center after all the weekend Masses. The volunteer would assist those wishing to check out a book or video. The card found in the book or video needs to be signed, place date taking out the book and/ video and add their phone number after their name.
