The Ministry of Sacristans

Sacristans are those behind the scenes who lead in the setting up before Mass and cleaning up after. This ministry is ideal for those who wish to serve but don’t like to be in front of crowds. Training is provided.

We truly appreciate your involvement and commitment as a Sacristan. We also understand the sacrifices that are made to faithfully fulfill your ministry as scheduled, and your service does not go unnoticed.

We depend on the exercise of your ministry. In your service, you relieve the priest and deacon from the task of having to take care of the details for Mass, so they can greet people as they come to church or collect their thoughts. This is especially important when baptisms are to take place during the Mass as it allows the priest to meet the families and perform the preliminary rites for baptism a half hour before mass begins.
