St. Pius X Social Ministries

“Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.”

1 Corinthians 12;4-7

Respect for Life

This committee promotes the sanctity of lie as it conflicts with abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, embryonic stem cell research, abuse, etc. They communicate the value of life to parishioners by furnishing literature and displays and by conducting programs; all fo which emphasize life issues. The committee interacts with other life-related groups in the Fox Valley and Green Bay Diocese. Monthly meetings are on the third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Loaves and Fishes

St. Pius X parishioners provide meals for the Shelter on the first and second Sundays of the month. Members of the parish at-large provide the meal for the first Sunday, and the second Sunday is sponsored by St. Pius X Day School parents. Meals are prepared a the Shelter and volunteers are always welcome! Community Loaves & Fishes, Inc. is a Monday evening community meal program.

Social Ministry

The purpose of the Social Ministry committee is to assist all of the social ministry committees, as well as assisting in coordinating their efforts. We are also working to educate and build awareness within the parish on issues involving Social Justice and Catholic Social Teaching.

The Social Ministry responsibilities consist of knowing about human needs, and being organized and financed to respond to those needs. The committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The second collection on the third Sunday of each month finances these efforts.

Elizabeth Ministry

The Rosebud Program is a precious reminder of the blessing of each new life or hope of new life. An invitation is given to all who are currently pregnant, have just celebrated a birth or adoption, have lost a child through miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, infant or child death, or who are experiencing the challenge of infertility to place a silk rosebud in the vase on the Elizabeth Ministry Table in the main narthex. St. Pius X Elizabeth Ministry prayer partners who have had similar experiences promise to pray for those families the rosebuds represent.

The Visiting Minister Program responds to the needs of women during their childbearing years by offering a like-to-like ministry through personal visits. Fostering a companionship based on personal experience, formal knowledge and acquired skills of the participants, these visits can take place in homes, over the phone, via email, at church or in the hospital. Each visiting minister presents a Gift and Resource Kit to the person she is visiting as a symbol of St. Pius’ concern and support. For more information contact the parish office at 733-0575.

We invite you to spend some time here, learning about our faith and to obtain news about our parish.
